The Best of British Contemporary Design While many established British designers are well known to a US audience, the UK’s flair for contemporary design, and its host of exciting proponents, remains a well kept secret. But not for long. During the annual Fall Market at the Decoration and Design Building, the British Consulate General will co-host a “Salute to British Design” at which several of our rising stars will be showcased. The group will include Margo Selby, Natasha Kerr, Ochre, Neisha Crosland, Caroline Ashworth, Jan Milne, and Chichi Cavalcanti. All are known for their work and for the innovative way in which they use materials. On display will be a fresh, vibrant, and exquisite array of interior textiles, rugs, wallpaper and wall hangings, furniture, lighting and accessories. We invite you to visit the Designer Library and Lounge on the 14th Floor during market days, October 5 and 6, 2004, to meet these select designers and to stop by the showrooms featuring prominent British design companies.
